Spring Break Dragons

Dragon Recognitions:
Congratulations go out to the following groups: 
  • Carroll Sr High Robotics Team competed this past weekend at the FIRST Tech Regional Challenge in San Antonio. Out team qualified to compete at the World Championship in Atlanta April 14-17. 
  • Carroll Forensic Team was named as the #1 program in the DFW Area with 11 students named All State. Individual winners included Dillon Huff/State Champion in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, Megan Schippmann/ 2nd in Congressional Debate.
  • Boys Soccer Team Bi-District Champs with their 3-0 victory over Euless Trinity this past week.
  • Girls Soccer Team Bi-District Champs with their 1-0 victory over Fossil Ridge.
  • Best of luck to our Dragon Hockey team for posting a record of 21-4-2. They advance to compete in the eight team high school hockey tournament, known as the Texas Cup. The Dragons will begin the tournament this Friday at the Dr. Pepper Star Center in Farmers Branch.
  • Our District Academic Meet will be Friday, March 26th at Flowermound HS.
  • Our District One Act Play contest will be on Tuesday, March 30th at 12:30 at Marcus HS


I would like to encourage you to congratulate these students, their coaches and parents as you see them. Also dont forget to continue being loud and proud of our  Dragons.

Other Announcements:


The Transition and Disability Resource Expo is scheduled for April 10, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Resource Connection Conference Center in Fort Worth.There will be  free informative workshops offered to all expo attendees and representatives by area organizations and service providers. Our state required Annual Fitnessgram for all students at the senior high is scheduled for April 5th and 7th. Look for more information.

North Texas US Service Academies Forum will be conducted on April 17th from 8:00-12:00 at Tarrant County Community College, Southeast Campus, 2100 Southeast Parkway, Arlington. Anyone interested in attending any of the five service academies or in learning about college ROTC programs are encouraged and invited to attend this free seminar. High school and middle school students and parents are invited to attend. This is a come and stay seminar featuring their special guest speaker Chad Hennings.
