Crazy Weather

Hopefully we have gotten past the crazy weather pattern of ice and snow of the past two weeks. During this time our students and staff have showed their ability to be flexible. Our students have adjusted to missing class and trying to get back into the routine of having class. Listed below are some recognitions of student groups and individuals that have been finalized that we would like to congratulate and would encourage you to do the same.

All State Musicians TMEA 2010-2011 
  • Over the past three weeks we had 5 students who advanced to State as part of the Texas Music Educators Association selection and recogntion program. Our All State Members include: Bryce Thomas/Band, Taylor White/Band.  Brice has been named All State for four consecutive years, amazing accomplishment. Additionally Taylor has been named as a All State Musician in Choir, Jazz and now Band. Holly Rosenberg made first chair piccolo and qualified for All State recognition. All State Choir Members are: JD Montgomery, Paige Stinnnett.
Dragon Wrestling Team win District Meet:
 
District Champions: (all advance to regionals) Matt Swoyer 11, Dillon Swacker 12, Riley Langston 12,

District Finalists: (all advance to regionals) Michael Basler 9, Cody Lindberg 10, Dominic Cruciani 12
Troy Angeli 12 (regional alternate)

Region II tournament is at Arlington-Martin High School this weekend / Good Luck Dragons.

Dragon Swim Team Sweeps the District 6-5A Swim/Dive Meet:
Carroll Girls won the District Championship with 265 points followed by Keller with 101 points, Central 79 points, Coppell 47 points, Northwest 18 points, Guyer 16 points, Saginaw 14 points and finally Fossil Ridge 6 points.
Carroll Boys won the District Championship with 266 points followed by Keller with 84 points, Northwest 18 points, Coppell 56 points, Central 42 points, Fossil Ridge 24 points, Saginaw 8 points, and lastly Guyer with 6 points.

All 5 Divers advanced to Regionals and additionally all 37 swimmers advanced to Regionals in 62 of 64 individual swim races. The Dragons won 23 of 24 events in the meet, including all six relays and set Pool Records in 12 of 16 individual events

Dragon Basketball Teams:

In a crazy week of playing 3-4 games in order to get caught up due to ice and snow our Girls wrapped up their district season with a district championship and will begin the playoff on Monday against Marcus.The girls finished with a 27-6 record and will play Marcus on Monday at Flowermound HS at 8:00pm. Our boys have clinched a playoff spot and as we get more details we will pass it on to all.

We are in the midst of academic competition not to mention our Soccer, baseball and softball teams are kicking off their seasons. Stay tuned for more Dragon News.
